Workshop: Using Economic Impact Analysis for Transportation Decision-making
Join us on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 for an informative web-based seminar highlighting the new ways state Department of Transportation (DOTs) and Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) are incorporating economic impact analysis into their program planning, project prioritization and selection processes. You will learn of their recent experiences and will be able to ask questions.
This 90 minute event will feature speakers representing DOTs and MPOs from across the country. These organizations differ significantly in their location and size, so each agency has developed a different way of applying economic impact analysis as part of its decision-making process. All of them have developed innovative, new approaches within the past year, using in-house staff to run the TREDIS economic impact analysis system.
Date: Wednesday, June 16, 2010
Time: 12:00 Noon EDT (9:00 AM PDT)
Each agency will describe its experiences in conducting economic impact analysis and integrating it into their current planning process. There will then be an open period for questions and discussion in which all attendees are invited to participate.
Presenting agencies:
* Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning
* Kansas Department of Transportation
* Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments (Colorado)
* Virginia Department of Transportation
There is no cost to attend, or special equipment needed (other than a computer with internet connection, and either a computer speaker or telephone to hear the presenters).
